Main purpose of job:

Managing the work of the UKTI Nigeria Energy team to maximise the export of British goods and services to the Energy sector in Nigeria. This will include liasinging with major players in the Nigerian Energy sector such as oil and gas, Power, Renewables, Petrochemicals etc. to identify potential supply chain opportunities for UK firms, and facilitate UK- Nigerian commercial partnerships. It will involve close working with UKTI’s oil and gas lead and the team in London, specifically the sector specialist, UK and Export Finance.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

Setting and delivering the priorities for UKTI Nigeria Energy team, in consultation with the Energy Tesm Leader.
Support and delivery of the annual UKTI- Shell Supply Chain Programme to ensure the programme delivers good value for participating delegates.
Identification and communication of procurement opportunities and the tender process for specific projects within Shell, other IOCs and Independent/marginal field operators to Sector specialist and UK companies; maintaining and development of these relationships across the nergy sector.
Engagement with and lobbying of the Nigerian National Oil Company and other senior wider government energy bodies on behalf of UK companies and help promote reform where needed.
Indepth knowledge of the Nigerian Energy industry with focus on the Power and Renewable sector.Deliever the Volume objectives for UKTI linked to Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy.
Keen interest and ability to acquire knowledge of the industry dynamics, policy framework and the regulatory, fiscal, licensing regime governing the various arms of the Nigerian Energy sector as described above.
Actively utilise industry market information to work with team in identifying and delivering strategic value opportunities in the Nigerian Energy industry for UK companies.
Develop and manage strategic commercial relationships with executive stakeholders within the government agencies and independent/private stakeholders of the Nigerian Energy Industry.Develop portfolio of relevant sectoral and supply chain opportunities.
Essential qualifications and experience
Experience or qualification in the Oil and Gas sector.
Commercial experience in the energy sector
Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.
