Governance and Assurance: specialist advice about, and oversight of, the processes, laws and regulations governing our business, predominantly for directors, chief executives and executive committees.

Job Purpose

To provide advisory support and also execute the Regulatory and Government Relations strategy

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Key Responsibilities

Establish and develop strong relationship with all key stakeholders that impact the business.
Profile key stakeholders for effective engagement.
Strategic information gathering from external stakeholder/regulators e.g. Bills, new policies within the regulatory/legislative arena.
Assist in coordinating discussions/deliberations on identified issues and coordinate action/response plans to pertinent issues.
Remain aware of regulatory & legislative developments, and practices of regulatory authorities, which are relevant to the Business.
Provide administrative support for staff members visiting Abuja and its environs
Provide intelligence reports and proactive feedback on emerging issues, developments.
Ensure that Business is advised timely and effectively on regulatory issues
Review and communicate current & emerging regulatory requirements
Key Perfomance Measures
Sound and effective relationship with various business units, government departments, regulatory bodies
Timely communication of regulatory requirements
Internal and External relationships

Internal relationships

Develop relationships within the various businesses and provide regulatory guidance to the wider business team

External relationships

Build relationships with regulators, law enforcement/government agencies

Preferred Qualification and Experience

BSc or any other degree
2 years Banking Experience-Minimum
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

Analytical skills.
Decision making.
Generates focused practical solutions.
Demonstrates sound judgement.
