Job Title: Cost Accounting Supervisor

Level: L7

Reports To: Cost Accountant

Purpose:

To track stock of Production and packaging Material Used in B.O.M including reconciliation of Usages Account.

Context:

Guinness Nigeria is a leading brewer and marketer of premium alcoholic and malt drinks in Nigeria. It has the vision of being the Nigeria’s No 1 brewer.

However, the Nigerian drinks market is today facing tough challenges from competition and decline in consumer-purchasing power. These have manifested itself in pressures on volume growth and profitability of companies in the in the brewery sector of the economy. Critical to the journey to the No 1 position is the role of Brewery Finance in generation growth.

Diageo Africa and Guinness Nigeria are aligned on this growth agenda and hence have devoted huge resources to purse the development and increase the contribution of Finance to immediate, medium and long term growth of the business. A West African innovation hub has been created in Guinness Nigeria giving rise to this position

Top 3 – 5 Accountabilities:

The is a significant role requiring flexibility of different styles and skills in dealing with different stakeholders and cross functional teams

Track production usage A/C on daily basis to ensure that engineering stores posts as at when due

Reconcile stock movement sheet with BOM postings by Packaging & Distribution on weekly basis.

Update production statement with raw material usages.

BOM IC/Ledger Adjustment

Generate for circulation the fixed cost and exception reports for the brewery.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

OND/HND in Accounting

Proven ability: team leadership / strategic thinking

Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project)

Ability to learn fast and adapt to a new experience

Minimum 2 years experience in Food and Manufacturing Industry.

Able to demonstrate success in developing & leading team.

Microsoft Excel /Vision Reporting Tools.

Microsoft Word

SAP accounting package.

Barriers to Success in Role:

Inability to access/untimely input data from direct customer/stake holders to enhance effective reporting deadlines.

Inability to learn fast, adaptation to a new, flexible role and manage relationships with varied stakeholders.
