ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
(Temporary – not to exceed January 2015)
Location: ABUJA – OVERSEAS BUILDING OPERATIONS (OBO)

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week
SALARY: OR – Ordinarily Resident–N 4,069,778.00 p.a. (Starting basic salary)
Position Grade: FSN-10
In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid
in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan.
NOR – Not Ordinarily Resident – AEFM-US$56,323.00,
EFM-U$48,338.00, Starting Salary) p.a. Position Grade: FP-5/5

 

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The incumbent will be directly responsible to the OBO Project Director (PD) for the
performance of Electrical quality assurance service. The Electrical Engineer will inspect
construction; review plans, recommend approval of shop drawing and submittals;
maintain a daily log of construction activities; develop change orders, prepare cost
estimates and other construction engineering duties. The Incumbent will develop a
detailed working knowledge of the technical requirements within the assigned specialty
of the construction contract documents. Perform all work in accordance with approved
OBO policies and procedures, including Safety requirements in the Corps of Engineers
Safety Health Requirements Manual, EM 385-1-1.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
NOTE: All applicants MUST address each selection criterion detailed below with

1. Completion of a University degree from an accredited University in Electrical
Engineering is required.
2. At least three years of progressively responsible, job related experience in Electrical
Engineering is required.
3. Level IV (Fluent) Speaking /Reading/Writing in English is required.
4. Must be able to read and interpret building plans and specifications, safety
requirements, RFI’s modifications and test reports.
5. Must be able to climb a seven story building and endure outside temperatures over
100 degrees Fahrenheit.
6. High degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Programs-Excel, Word,
Power Point and Access is required.
